Though believed to be approximately 40 percent women use powder on a regular basis as part of personal hygiene routines.
Previous research has linked powder with ovarian tumors. However, this is the first study to link the powder with uterine cancer or endometrial cancer. This cancer kills about 1,000 women per year in England and Wales.
In this study, researchers from Harvard Medical School in Boston to investigate the health risks powder. Researchers found a significantly increased risk in elderly women who have passed menopause.
In a study published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, the researchers from the United States reported that elderly women at higher risk. The reason, they have been exposed to powder for a longer period of time.
